I came to Wilkinson Smith Salon originally for a consultation. This was due to a previous salon dyeing my hair too dark and wanting to go back lighter. I had my consultation with Rachel who sat with me for over half an hour and explained what could be done with my hair and what would be needed to keep it healthy. I booked in the next week to get my hair done with Rachel. Rachel did my hair and was able to lighten it considerably and I left the salon with healthy hair and a massive smile on my face. I want to thank all the girls at Wilkinson Smith Salon as you were all brilliant and there’s such a friendly atmosphere! I will be back to get my hair redone when it is needed and cannot recommend Rachel highly enough!

I love Wilkinson Smith - I’ve been going there since I moved to Colchester in 2010. On this occasion I had a cut and blow dry and my daughter had her first ever hair cut. Jody was so patient with my daughter - who was very nervous in unfamiliar surroundings with unfamiliar people. My cut and blow dry was great, exactly what I asked for. Jody listened to what I wanted and advised on how best to make it work for my hair. Really happy, as always! ❤️

I have been visiting Julie at Wilkinson Smith Salon for my hair for many many years. She is professional, and above all extremely knowledgeable about hair. She has a vision on what works, does a great job with a warm and friendly approach. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!!

This afternoon I had a really lovely appointment with Rachel for a wash and blow dry. I had an important work event to attend and wanted to look my best to help my confidence. Ruth washed my hair, put a conditioning treatment on, and gave me a lovely relaxing head massage. Rachel gave me a great consultation, really listening to what I needed and she understood my anxiety about wanting to look my best. I have thick wavy hair which is prone to frizz and I can never get it to look very nice, but Rachel worked her magic and my hair looked wonderful when she had finished. My colleagues won't recognise me when they see me! Thank you very much for listening to me and making my hair look so lovely.

l have had my hair cut by Rachel at this salon for years, she interpreted exactly what l wanted and l can completely relax knowing she'll make me look as good as l can do. She's fun as well. Everyone at the salon is so friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely environment and a pleasure to go there. No hesitation in recommending.

I visited Wilkinson Smith for the first time on Saturday. Jody and Ruth looked after me. I’ve been feeling really low about my hair post baby. Jody gave me such good advice, and really listened to what I wanted. I was so happy with my hair! Ruth managed to find time to sort out my atrocious nails, and was so lovely. I went to see Jody at Wilkinson Smith Salon. I had a year of regrowth and hadn't had my hair cut for that long. Jody did a fantastic job, putting a full head of perfect highlights through my hair and then dying it the colour I wanted. She also cut my hair wonderfully and was kind and caring the whole way through the process. Her advice was spot on and she really listened to what I wanted. I cannot recommend Jody and Wilkinson Smith enough.

I went to Wilkinson Smiths for a colour correction on my highlighted hair. I initially spoke to Rachel she really went out of her way to listen to where I wanted to go with my hair & were non judgmental & friendly. I booked in with Jody on the salon’s recommendations. Like Rachel, Jody’s knowledge of hair colouring, maintenance & condition was second to none & was delivered in a friendly, reassuring & non judgmental manner. Jody put in a T-section of foils & continually checked to make sure that they were developing well. They were washed out by Ruth who, once again, was very friendly & talked me through what she was doing. I had a toner & a cut & I am over the moon with the end result! Considering the damage that my previous hairdresser had caused my hair, I was very happy with the outcome. The whole salon experience was 1st class, from the cleanliness of the salon, to the friendliness and knowledge of the team. A massive thank you to Jody, Rachel & Ruth for taking the time to make me feel at ease & for your time & advice! I will be coming back to this salon! Maria x
